TAMS provide crates and collect produce every Thursday from their participating allotment gardeners, during the market season. Empty crates are left for the following week when filled crates are uplifted. We ask our gardeners to provide information on unusual produce and special varieties they grow and supply to TAMS so we can share that with customers at the market stall. New and favourite recipes are always popular with customers, and we often share those too. We ask our gardeners not to give The Allotment Market Stall produce that has been grown using unlicensed chemicals.
Produce is taken to CFINE's secure warehouse where it is weighed, recorded and stored in a refrigeration unit. What does not sell at the market is sold to CFINE for their community food outlets. CFINE coordinates the food bank network in Aberdeen, so they also take what they need for the food bank. Compost is the final resting place for unsuitable produce.
Participating allotment sites are paid at the end of the season.
